What stays with me more than plant names are the forms, textures, and the emotional response they stir in me as I observe them closely. I don’t aim for botanical accuracy in my work. Instead, I use colour expressively, often exaggerating or completely shifting the palette to reflect how a plant feels rather than how it looks. In this artwork, I’ve pushed the natural colouring far beyond reality, using bold reds and deep blues to reimagine the plant in a more vibrant, emotional context.
