Description: The design spells out "STAY WILD" in large, blocky letters that have a leopard print pattern filling their interiors and are bordered with red. Flames sprout from the top of each letter. The background is solid black. The colors utilized are black, red, yellow, orange, and various shades of brown to comprise the leopard pattern.
Description: A black background features a circular arrangement of branches with leaves and berries, framing two birds. The larger bird on the left is adorned with intricate circular patterns in orange, blue, and white. A smaller bird on the right is entirely in shades of blue with similar circular embellishments. The foliage includes blue leaves, brown leaves, and orange and red berries.
Description: I started this mini-series back in 2016 and, honestly, didn't know what the end result would be. At the time, I was just cranking them because they were fun to do, and I completed one within a few hours. The majority of the Skulls and Buddhas series are either 4x6 or 5x7 inches. It always seemed to me that the symbolism of skulls and the Buddha (in a meditative pose) is similar. In the practice of sitting meditation, we confront the inescapable reality of impermanence, and the skull often symbolizes mortality. The simple fact that we will have to face our own last breath.
