Description: Anubis is the ancient Egyptian god of death rites and mummification. According to Osiris myth, he was crown prince who was in his bandages. Anubis is in equation also the manifestation of Horus and Osiris. A somber and dark design of the Egyptian god Anubis, who was often depicted with a dog or jackal head.
Description: This design is based of a talatat from Amarna in Ancient Egypt. Amarna was an 18th Dynasty city established by one of the most notorious pharaohs, Akhenaten. A talatat was a standardized piece of limestone that was used for construction and often decorated in beautiful imagery, sometimes relating to the worship of the Aten. Here the talatat represented a field of ripe barley, swaying in the breeze. I've recreated this as a block print and printed it by hand in before scanning it.
