The two firms combined became Interstate Motor Freight System and relocated to Grand Rapids. Interstate grew steadily with a focus on providing route service throughout the Midwest and Northeast. By the time 1980 rolled around and brought deregulation to the industry, Interstate was the 10th largest trucking company with 3,500 employees systemwide, but like their competitors, were rocked by the newly deregulated industry. By 1983, the company was losing $20M a year, and the following year saw them go into bankruptcy, followed by total liquidation after a 52-year run.

Larry Glick (May 16, 1922 – March 26, 2009) was an American talk radio host, based in Boston, Massachusetts, who presented a long-running show on WBZ and later WHDH through the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. His broadcast at WBZ covered all 50 states. In September 2008, he was inducted into the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame. This is a copy of my original maroon silkscreen Glick University T-shirt from 1982.
