Description: This depiction of Hathor comes from an Ancient Egyptian menat counterweight. A menat was a type of heavily beaded ritual necklace and the Hathor image was used as a counterweight on the back. There are representations of women holding the necklace, possibly shaking them to make noise, during ceremonies honoring the goddess. Here you can see Hathor represented as both a woman and as a cow. I've recreated this depiction of Hathor in my own style based off a menat counterweight located in the Met.
Description: A bold and distressed illustration of the Egyptian god Horus, featuring a stylized falcon head with symbolic hieroglyphics. Perfect for fans of mythology, ancient history, and powerful graphic art.

Description: This kind of beetle was highly symbolic to ancient Egyptians, it represented rebirth and renewal. They believed that the sun was pushed across the sky every day by a giant scarab, the god Khepri. In real life, the scarab beetle lays its eggs in a ball of dung and rolls the ball ahead of it wherever it goes.
