Roughneck Socks
Description: The Roughneck Two-Zero, or simply Roughnecks, is a Mobile Infantry unit that served in many battles against the Arachnids in the Bug Wars. The unit was originally lead by Lieutenant Jean Rasczak. After Lieutenant Rasczak's demise during Ambush at Whiskey Outpost, the unit is commanded by Johnny Rico, who later becomes a General.
Description: Doodlebugger is the common term for seismic field personnel in the petroleum industry, though their talents are certainly utilized far beyond just the oil fields. Doodlebuggers are the guys who seek out oil, natural gas, and other precious commodities by exciting the ground with everything from explosives and drop weights, to pieces of specialized heavy equipment called *cough* vibrators. They work in the most extreme climates, and in some of the most dangerous and untamed land, long before any extraction operations can be put into place. This design comes to us from Houston's Herb J. Hawthorne Company in promotion of their Blue Demon drill bits from 1951.
Description: Whiskey Outpost was a Mobile Infantry installation on Planet P. Designed to be modular and quick to assemble, it contained a command post, satellite uplinks, barracks, a mess hall, infirmary, as well as several towers with heavy-caliber weaponry for defense. During the Klendathu System Campaign, the base was commanded by General Owen. However, the Bugs swarmed the base and killed all the personnel (except for Owen, who hid in a storage locker). The bugs then sent a distress call to the Federation Fleet, bringing in the Roughnecks. This was part of an elaborate trap on the Arachnids part to set a trap of their own.

Description: This thrifted gem came to us from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and appears to be a crew shirt from an underwater pipeline operation, specifically on Barge 207. A little research revealed that Barge 207 was designed and built in 1958 as one of the first dedicated lay barge underwater pipeline platforms, and is apparently still owned and operated by the Brown & Root company. So whether you’re in the underwater pipeline field or just want to impress women by telling them that you are, Barge 207 is the one for you!

Description: **"Goldsmith, Texas: Permian Basin Oil Boom Town & Tony’s Tavern’s 35-Year Legacy (1937–2013) | Ector County’s Historic Oilfield Watering Hole"** Nestled **20 miles west of Odessa** at the crossroads of **State Highway 158 and Farm Road 856**, **Goldsmith, Texas**, blossomed during the **Permian Basin oil boom** but remained a “sleepy” town of 240 residents. By **1937**, it boasted churches, a post office, and essential services—yet lacked a bar until **Tony’s Tavern** opened in **1978**. Defying small-town odds, Tony’s thrived for **35 years** by catering to oilfield roughnecks, transient crews, and locals craving camaraderie over cold beers, becoming a beloved Ector County institution until its closure in **2013**.
