Description: This star is roughly 20,000 light years away which means the light which reached the Hubble Space Telescope started its journey to arrive in time for Christmas over 20,000 years ago. It is near the giant nebula NGC 3603. Find a photo of the nebula and you will see thousands more sparkling young stars clustered there. This red one seemed right for Christmas and digitally painting a portrait gave me new appreciation for all the suns that decorate the sky continuously regardless of the season.
