Stop The War! - Soviet Propaganda, Anti War, Anti Imperialist Socks

Description: The 1974 World’s Fair took place in Spokane, Washington during the Cold War, though the Soviets were one of the first nations to commit to be a part of Expo '74. Their participation marked the first time since the New York World’s Fair of 1939-1940 that the Soviets had exhibited on U.S. soil. The USSR's pavilion was a massive show stealer that was by far the biggest exhibit at Expo, occupying an acre and a half of Havermale Island. Visitors were greeted by a colossal sculpted map of Russia outside the pavilion, which weighed over two tons, and were treated to "I visited the Soviet pavilion!" tchotchkes ranging from t-shirts and bags to posters and pins.
Description: No war in Iran, no war in Venezuela, no war in Cuba, no war in DPRK, no war anywhere but between us and our oppressors. Keep imperialist hands off the planet.

Buran (Russian: Бура́н, IPA: [bʊˈran], Snowstorm or Blizzard) was the first spaceplane to be produced as part of the Soviet/Russian Buran programme. It carried the GRAU index serial number 11F35 K1 and is – depending on the source – also known as OK-1K1, Orbiter K1, OK 1.01 or Shuttle 1.01. Description: Laika (Russian: Лайка; c. 1954 – 3 November 1957) was a Soviet space dog who became one of the first animals in space, and the first animal to orbit the Earth. Laika, a stray mongrel from the streets of Moscow, was selected to be the occupant of the Soviet spacecraft Sputnik 2 that was launched into outer space on 3 November 1957. Little was known about the impact of spaceflight on living creatures at the time of Laika's mission, and the technology to de-orbit had not yet been developed, so Laika's survival was never expected. Some scientists believed humans would be unable to survive the launch or the conditions of outer space, so engineers viewed flights by animals as a necessary precursor to human missions.

Description: Sputnik 1 was the first artificial Earth satellite.[6] The Soviet Union launched it into an elliptical low Earth orbit on 4 October 1957, orbiting for three weeks before its batteries died, then silently for two more months before falling back into the atmosphere. It was a 58 cm (23 in) diameter polished metal sphere, with four external radio antennas to broadcast radio pulses. Its radio signal was easily detectable even by radio amateurs,[7] and the 65° inclination and duration of its orbit made its flight path cover virtually the entire inhabited Earth. This surprise success precipitated the American Sputnik crisis and triggered the Space Race, a part of the Cold War.
