Squadron Socks
Description: Public Affairs is a term for the formal offices of the branches of the United States Department of Defense whose purpose is to deal with the media and community issues. The term is also used for numerous media relations offices that are created by the U.S. military for more specific limited purposes. Public affairs offices are staffed by a combination of officers, enlisted personnel, civilian officials and contract professionals. Public Affairs offices play a key role in contingency and deployed operations. The typical Public Affairs office is led by an officer who is in charge of planning, budgeting for, executing and evaluating the effectiveness of public affairs programs, and provides public affairs advice, counsel and supp...
Description: The 44th Bomb Group was assigned to 8th Air Force at Cheddington from 11-Sep-1942 to 28-Jun-1943. The Group was known as the 'Flying Eight-Balls' and each B-24 Liberator it flew was decorated with a winged bomb cartoon of an 8-Ball (pool ball) over which were superimposed eyes and the nose of a bomb in the squadron colour.
Description: Cats are excellent at catching mice because they have evolved with strong natural hunting instincts, making them adept at stalking, pouncing, and quickly capturing small prey like mice. This ability stems from their need to hunt for food in the wild, where mice are readily available and considered an easy target due to their size and lack of defense mechanisms. This '80s Mouserschmitt Squadron design plays on cat's well known reputation for hunting mice and keeping their owner's environment clear of these pesky rodents.
Description: Initially established under Third Air Force in early 1942 as a fighter squadron at Baer Field, Indiana, flying some antisubmarine patrols in the Gulf of Mexico. Deployed to the European Theater of Operations in June 1942 without aircraft as its Curtiss P-40 Warhawks and Bell P-39 Airacobras were deemed unsuitable for use against German aircraft in long-range bomber escort duties. Was re-equipped with RAF Supermarine Spitfire Vs and its pilots and technicians spent a two-month period undergoing intensive training in flying and fighting with RAF pilots in the British aircraft from airfields in southeast England. The squadron flew its first combat mission on 18 August 1942, when it attacked enemy positions in occupied France. Ass...

Description: Javelina or Collared Peccary is NOT a wild pig or boar. See my video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3RnMhkKe5c to learn more. For a spirit animal or totem, they are very much like lions. They live in very tight knit groups called squadrons. Females are dominant and take care of each other’s young. The dominant male is a protector. They don’t see well, but their noses are superior - sniffing out everything they need in order to survive and thrive. Much braver and faster than one would expect. This animal became a national meme several years ago when one was filmed running along a sidewalk in Tucson, Arizona.
