The hip-hop label, based in Englewood, New Jersey, launched the first top 40 rap single, "Rapper's Delight," by The Sugarhill Gang, and played a pivotal role in bringing hip-hop to the mainstream. The bluegrass label, which is still active, is known for artists like Ricky Skaggs and Sarah Jarosz.
