Description: The Pagoda at Kew Number of views as of 22nd May 2019 = 2810. The famous pagoda at Kew Gardens (London, England) stands (163 feet) high and was completed in 1762. At that time, it was the tallest reconstruction of a Chinese building in Europe. Kew's Pagoda dares to be different, in that purists apparently argue that pagodas should always have an odd number of floors. This one has ten. Each successive, octagonal floor from the first to the topmost is1 foot (30 cm) less in diameter and height than the preceding one. The original building was very colourful; the roofs being covered with varnished iron plates, with a dragon on each corner.
