Description: Mourning Dove on the Wire by Debra Martz Most everyone in the US has this bird but it was just sitting there so pretty with the split white and blue background I just had to get its picture! This was near the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center in Port Aransas, Texas....just around the corner and across the street. I usually walk over to where there is a wetland area before leaving the birding center. Didn't see anything close until I headed back to my car and saw this dove. The mourning dove, Zenaida macroura, is the most abundant and widespread dove in the birds of north America.
