This vintage psychedelic soul illustration celebrates the electrifying spirit of Aretha Franklin, blending the golden glow of 1970s concert posters with gospel-inspired stained glass, radiant colors, and distressed screen-print textures. Description: Do you ever hear the call of something you can’t quite pinpoint? Something you might not even recognize first? A voice from within that starts to whisper in your ear and show up in your subconscious in the way of images and ideas? It is totally possible that what you’re hearing is your Inner Self. Your true, real self who’s ready for changes and new ideas and maybe, just maybe, a new direction. Listening to the Inner Self is not always easy or straight forward. Especially if we’re not used to paying attention to it or even recognizing the voice and where it’s coming from. But with some patience and practice you can start to hear it. Just listen, give it some time, and clarity will follow. I draw the original artwork with Inktense penci
Description: It has been said that the vampire is the national bird of the unconscious. It was not Carl Jung who said this but the American poet Joan Sutton Landis, and then popularized by literary critic and scholar Nina Auerbach. I’m not sure I agree with it completely, but it is an intriguing idea. In this sense, the vampire represents hidden fears and desires, making it the ultimate, reigning symbol of that psychological underworld—always perched over our collective imagination, native to the human psyche, and universally recognized across cultures. That much could be true but does not at all paint the complete picture imho. (The artistic assets used to create this design were licensed to me by ThatsDesignArt.)
Description: A swirling San Francisco fever dream built around Jefferson Airplane and the magnetic presence of Grace Slick. Fluid concert-poster lettering, rabbit symbolism, cosmic shapes and worn screen-print textures collide in a piece inspired by the strange electric atmosphere of late-'60s psychedelic rock.
