Punk Pattern Tapestries
Description: Pattern of white skulls and crossbones .The skulls have various expressions, some with teeth showing and others with simple eye sockets and nasal cavities. The crossbones are arranged behind or beneath the skulls, creating a dense and somewhat eerie composition. The style is simple and graphic, with a slightly distressed or textured look.
Description: According to the IWW: The Black Cat -- traditionally drawn as angry with claws bared, arched back, and a brushy tail (pictured, right) -- has long been one of the symbols of the IWW. It was probably conceived by IWW member Ralph Chaplin (most famous for penning the IWW / labor anthem "Solidarity Forever"), who produced many of the IWW's early "slient agitator" graphics which -- themselves -- had a close association with hobo signs. We like to combine anarchist symbols and quotes with the visual art of anarchists like William Morris. Our goal is to create beautiful and accessible ways to approach the philosophy of Mutual Aid.
