The Duafe is one of the traditional Adinkra symbols from the Akan people of Ghana. “Duafe” literally means wooden comb. The Story & Meaning Behind Duafe. In Akan culture, the wooden comb was much more than a grooming tool. It symbolized: beauty, cleanliness, femininity, care, love, good character and nurturing energy.
