Description: Carson McCullers wrote about the deep South, and her work is frequently described as Southern Gothic. Despite her poor health and the series of strokes that tormented her since her youth, she gave us a significant number of excellent books: The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter, Reflections in a Golden Eye, The Member of the Wedding, The Ballad of the Sad Café. She was a close friend of Truman Capote and Tennessee Williams.
Description: One of the earliest organized baseball clubs was the 1870 Carson City Silver Star ballclub. Another ballclub of the early era was the 1874 Carson City Silver Stars. Carson City was a charter member of the 1907 Nevada State League, which began minor league play in the 1907 season, operating as an Independent four–team league. The Nevada State League president was John T. Powers, who later served as president of the Federal League. The 1907 Nevada State League formed with charter franchises in Carson City, Nevada, Goldfield, Nevada, Reno, Nevada and Tonopah, Nevada.
Description: The headquarters company of the 7th Infantry Division (Light) formally reactivated on 4 June 1999, at Fort Carson, Colorado, as the first Active Component/Reserve Component division.[146] The reserve formations that made up the 7th Infantry Division included the 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team of the Arkansas National Guard, the 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team of the Oregon National Guard and the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team of the Oklahoma National Guard. Fort Carson became the new headquarters for the division
