Circa Pillows
Description: A digital drawing depicting the steam locomotive Flying Scotsman as it would have been seen Circa 1925. The locomotive was built in 1923, numbered 1472 and had no name. It was renumbered 4472 and given the name "Flying Scotsman" just before it represented LNER as its flagship locomotive at the British Empire Exhibition, at Wembley Park in 1924. It represented LNER again at the 1925 exhibition and this artwork depicts Flying Scotsman as it would have appeared, with its number on the low sided tender and the LNER crest on the cab.
Description: Antifa: Anti Fascist Action circa 1945 — Six figures heave the American flag skyward, their helmets glowing like halos of defiance. The scene mirrors Rosenthal’s 1945 photograph, but here the flag is both national and ideological—an emblem of resistance against creeping authoritarianism. “ANTIFA” blazes above, “CIRCA 1945” grounds below, reminding that antifascism was never radical, but foundational. The soldiers lift not just cloth, but a legacy: America’s myth forged in opposition to tyranny. The ground may be rubble—war, lies, propaganda—yet they rise anyway.
Description: A humorous representation of a gingerbread cookie lifting weights. The cookie is orange with white icing details, three green buttons, and a smiling face. It's positioned centrally, holding a barbell above its head. Text around the figure reads "GINGER'S FAST AS FAST CAN BE CIRCA 1873 GYM."
Description: It seemed like a good idea: Take two of Epic Records’ hottest guitar slingers, Jeff Beck and Stevie Ray Vaughan, and put them on the road together. Beck, 45, had been a mercurial legend since his days in the mid-Sixties with the Yardbirds and the Jeff Beck Group, but he hadn’t toured for almost a decade; Vaughan, 34, had been off the scene for a couple of years himself, conquering a drug and alcohol problem, and while his flashy blues rock had acquired a faithful audience, the pairing wouldn’t hurt to give both their careers a little extra oomph.

Description: “Buy the products of Eretz Israel! The building of your country is in your hands.” (Hebrew.) Circa 1930. Published by Association for Products of Eretz Israel. Designed by R. Dayan (Rudolf Deutsch.) Public domain, via PPPA. The image shows a large hand holding a factory, symbolizing the building of the nation through industry. Rudy Dayan (Deutsch) was part of the wave of European-trained designers who shaped Israeli graphic design’s early institutions and visual style by combining European modernist practices with local needs. Using a variety of graphic design tools, I created a restored and enlarged reproduction of this historical Israeli poster, based on a rare photo of the original poster in an archive.
