Description: For years I’ve been photographing skyscapes of the Sonoran Desert of Arizona where I live. To see the modus operandi behind this characterization, please see the description in my Dances with Cloud Kachina collection at Fine Art America. All I can say in the brief space allotted here is that it is a creative act of Spirit - communing with Cloud Kachina - what the pueblo Indians of the southwest call the great force behind the sky, clouds, and weather generally speaking. It is neither exclusively nature mysticism as in elementals (i.e., sylphs) nor is it purely scientific as in crenelating contrails. It is both, depending on how you prefer to look at it.
Description: Capture the vibrant spirit of the Southwest with this vintage-style "Arizona Camelback Mountain" graphic! Rendered in a retro travel badge aesthetic with halftone textures, this artwork highlights towering saguaro cacti, prickly pears, and dramatic red rock peaks. A fantastic souvenir for hikers, outdoor adventurers, Phoenix tourists, and lovers of desert landscapes. Great for t-shirts, hoodies, stickers, tote bags, and travel gear.
Description: A storm front rendered in expressive white ink brushstrokes, featuring layered clouds and a distant horizon through flowing monochrome lines in a clean minimalist composition. The generous use of negative space creates a refined landscape illustration that stands out beautifully on dark backgrounds. A timeless white ink landscape design for nature lovers, weather enthusiasts, and admirers of expressive monochrome artwork. Suitable for apparel, accessories, and home décor.

Description: This moon was almost full and in the astrological sign of Virgo when this photo was taken on April 15, 2019. The sun was setting, and the moon appeared to be floating among waves of clouds in soft hues of blue and purple. Digital enhancement pronounces this effect. The Sonoran Desert skies about 50 miles south of Phoenix, Arizona, USA, are always full of magical wonders to behold!

Description: This is a picture of two of my favorite things to photographs in skyscapes: moons and contrails! April 9, 2019 was a particularly windy day in the desert, and the contrails left by the jets were moving and changing shape almost as rapidly as the neighboring clouds. I caught this one in several positions in relation to this beautiful moon in Gemini. Two minutes earlier, I caught it going right through the orb! (See the image entitled “Cresent IN Contrail.” This second one is called “Crescent AND Contrail” enhanced with the pinks and purples of the ongoing sunset.
Description: This is an image of perhaps my favourite place, the the Langdale Valley, in the English Lake District. The image looks out from Side Pike, a small mountain with a wonderful view of most of the valley. When I'm in the "Lakes', I often climb up to there, not for the strenuous activity, it's not high, but for the unparalleled view. This image is of the head of the valley, looking up to Bow Fell, with it head in the clouds, one of England's highest mountains. On a calm day, I could sit there for a long time taking in all that surrounds me.
Description: Spread before you is the head of the Langdale Valley, viewed from atop Side Pike, a modest mountain with the most impressive of views. You are looking into the heart of the English Lake District, where lie the highest mountains. Modest on a global scale, but unforgettable. This is perhaps my most favourite place, a place I yearn to revisit.
