Description: Whitby Whale Bones Arch Framing Whitby Abbey To recognise this tradition and the town's important whaling history, a whale bone arch was erected on Whitby's West Cliff in 1853. The archway frames a view of the town's quaint cottages and cobbled streets as well as the ruins of the medieval Whitby Abbey, located across the bay on the East Cliff. Drop me a message if you would prefer a different background or a slight change in some way to enhance the product :-) I have set a grey or black background on most items that needed a colour adding, I can soon change this for you By Paul Thompson Photography
