Park City is a city in Summit County, Utah, United States. It is considered to be part of the Wasatch Back. The city is 32 miles (51 km) southeast of downtown Salt Lake City and 20 miles (32 km) from Salt Lake City's east edge of Sugar House along Interstate 80. In 2008, Park City was named by Forbes Traveler Magazine among one of the 20 'prettiest towns' in the United States.

The New Orleans Pride were an expansion franchise in the Women’s Professional Basketball League (WBL) in 1979. The team lasted two seasons until the league folded in 1981.

The Houston Aeros were a professional ice hockey team in the World Hockey Association (WHA) from 1972 to 1978. The Aeros became one of the most successful franchises in the WHA. They won four consecutive Western Division titles, from 1973–74 to 1976–77 seasons, and finished second in the Western Division in 1972–73 and third in the league in 1977–78. They won the AVCO World Trophy in 1974 over the Chicago Cougars and in 1975 over the Quebec Nordiques, winning both series in four-game sweeps; and lost in the 1976 AVCO finals to the Winnipeg Jets, also in a sweep.

The Omaha Knights was the name of three minor league professional ice hockey teams from 1959 to 1965 and from 1966 to 1975, based in Omaha, Nebraska, at the Ak-Sar-Ben Arena. The Knights were founded in 1959 as members of the International Hockey League. Following the 1962-63 season the team moved to Toledo, Ohio , becoming the Toledo Blades. A new Knights team joined the new Central Professional Hockey League for the 1963-64 season. This second iteration of the Knights moved to Houston, TX, to become the Houston Apollos after the 1964-65 season. After a year without a team, hockey returned to Omaha for the 1966-67 season after the Minnesota Rangers moved from Saint Paul, Minnesota, to vacate the market that the NHL's Minnesota North Stars

The Pittsburgh Phantoms were a professional soccer team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1967. The club was a member of the non-FIFA sanctioned National Professional Soccer League (NPSL). All of the team's home games were played at Forbes Field, which also served as the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Texarkana Titans were a professional American football team based in Texarkana, Texas. They began play in 1967 as a member of the Southern Football League and by 1968 joined the Texas Football League, and became a member of the Continental Football League when the former merged operations with it in 1969. After the Continental Football League dissolved in 1970, the Titans returned to an autonomous TFL. The Titans were just one of the four TFL franchises to remain in the league when it changed its name to the Trans-American Football League (TAFL) in late 1970 where they played for one season.

The Ottawa Rough Riders were a Canadian Football League team based in Ottawa, Ontario, founded in 1876. Formerly one of the oldest and longest-lived professional sports teams in North America, the Rough Riders won the Grey Cup championship nine times. The Boston Franchise played at South End Grounds from 1871 to 1914 and at Braves Field from 1915 to 1952. Braves Field is now Nickerson Field of Boston University. The franchise, from Boston to Milwaukee to Atlanta, is the oldest continuous professional baseball franchise.

The Minneapolis Millers were a minor league professional ice hockey team in the International Hockey League for four seasons from 1959 to 1963. The Millers played at the 5,500-seat Minneapolis Arena in Uptown, Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Millers were created on December 3, 1959, upon the relocating of the Denver Mavericks franchise. The Mavericks had rivalry with the St. Paul Saints team, that continued with the relocation. The Millers were 1963 Turner Cup finalists.
