Description: On April 19, 1943 medical research chemist Albert Hofmann, intrigued by the effects after an accidental exposure, tested an ergotamine he had derived while seeking a treatment of migraine/respiratory problems. Confused by the effects of the first LSD trip, he rode his bicycle home to rest in bed till he felt better. He never felt better but he did come down and spent the rest of his life exploring and promoting the use of the psychoactive compound as it benefits mankind. Bicycle Day celebrates this event and Hofmann’s discovery.

Description: Buffalo Springfield was a rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1966, taking their name from an old Buffalo Springfield steamroller parked outside their house. The group, widely known for the song 'For What It's Worth,' which became a US top 10 hit and a counterculture anthem, released three albums and several singles between 1966 and 1968. Their second album, Buffalo Springfield Again, marked their progression to psychedelia and hard rock. After several drug arrests and line-up changes, the group disbanded in 1968, and their final album, Last Time Around, was released post dissolution.
