Besse, the plant features a single pressurized water reactor designed by Babcock & Wilcox. Over the decades, Davis–Besse has played an important role in supplying carbon-free power to northern Ohio, while also becoming widely known within the nuclear industry for both its longevity and safety challenges. The plant has continued operating with upgrades and oversight, remaining a significant contributor of clean nuclear energy.
