Description: Founded in 1959, Clarke Bros. Heavy Transport started out as movers of houses and other structures, eventually expanding into heavy equipment and other oversized, overweight loads. By the mid-seventies, they had added a massive fleet of 200 Autocar dump trucks and began taking on earth moving contracts where tons of material needed to be relocated in a short amount of time. These jobs ranged from large construction site digs to mining operations, usually related to opening or closing a mine.

Description: Captain Midnight (later rebranded on TV as Jet Jackson, Flying Commando) is a U.S. adventure franchise originally broadcast as a radio serial in 1938. The title character, originally Captain Jim "Red" Albright, was a World War I U.S. Army pilot. His Captain Midnight code name was given by a general who sent him on a high-risk mission, from which he returned at the stroke of 12. Initially, Albright was a private aviator who helped people, but in 1940, an origin story explained how Albright was recruited to lead the Secret Squadron, an aviation-oriented paramilitary organization fighting sabotage and espionage. After the America's entry into WWII, the show shifted Secret Squadron's duties to fight the more unconventional aspects of the war.
Description: In 1960, the White Motor Company entered the agriculture market with the purchase of the Oliver Farm Equipment Company. In 1962, White acquired the Cockshutt Farm Equipment Company of Canada. White increased its agricultural interests in 1963 with the acquisition of Minneapolis-Moline. In 1969, Oliver, Minneapolis-Moline and Cockshutt were merged to form White Farm Equipment with headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois; White Motor Corporation's headquarters remained in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1975, Oliver, Minneapolis-Moline and Cockshutt were folded into the White brand. The green of Oliver, red of Cockshutt and yellow of Minneapolis-Moline tractors was replaced by the silver tractors of White's Field Boss line.
Description: Roadway Express, Inc. was founded in Akron, Ohio in December 1930. While Roadway began with an owner-operator model and primarily focused on truckload shipments, but by the mid '40s, it had shifted entirely to company-owned vehicles and mostly to less-than-truckload (LTL) shipping. Roadway became a publicly traded company in 1956, and in subsequent years, it expanded across the United States and by 1982 was operating over 500 terminals nationwide. By 2003, Roadway Express was the largest LTL carrier in the US, and held that title until 2009 when they were purchased by a logistics holding company that would merge Roadway into their operations, ending Roadway's nearly 80 year legacy.

Description: Pacific Intermountain Express (P.I.E) got their start in 1927 when the Lilenquest brothers began providing freight service in Idaho, running two Model A trucks between Pocatello to Idaho Falls. The company grew steadily, but P.I.E finally took shape after procuring three other firms and consolidating them in 1940. By 1946 P.I.E had 535 employees and was growing rapidly through ongoing acquisitions in the late 1940s and 1950s. In 1954, P.I.E became the largest hauler of petroleum products in the world. Service now extended from the west coast all the way to St. Louis and Chicago. By the mid 1960s, P.I.E extended service to the east coast through more acquisitions, giving them 67 terminals in 29 states.
