Escher, particularly his iconic vision of endless staircases where gravity loses meaning and direction becomes an illusion. The environment is a surreal labyrinth in which players continuously ascend and descend stairways that loop back onto themselves, creating a disorienting, paradoxical space. In this design, the staircases are not merely structural elements—they are the core mechanic of a deadly game.
