Description: The 1968 Trans-Am season saw a new competitor in sedan road racing, one that in its rookie year displayed the perfect combination of brute strength, amazing speed and all out stamina. The Javelins had factory 290 ci V-8 engines that were bored to 304.3 cubic inches to obtain maximum performance within the displacement limit. As a result, the first official American Motors racing team proved that their Javelins could compete with the best of the best in the Trans-Am racing circuit.
