Restaurant Pillows
Description: Step back in time to the 1950s with our Old Hickory Restaurant design from Sylacauga, Alabama! Owned by the renowned Leon Bice, it was a beloved establishment celebrated for its authentic pit barbecue and refined dining atmosphere. With a diverse menu highlighting tenderloin steaks, chicken, fish, shrimp dishes, and an array of sandwiches, there was a culinary delight for every member of the family. Situated on the junction of Highway 280 and 231, this design serves as a nostalgic homage to a cherished culinary icon of days gone by.

Description: Pizza Planet is a family restaurant frequented by Andy Davis and his toys that is easily identifiable by its unique design employing a space theme. The building is shaped like the planet Saturn with the "Pizza Planet" logo on top, and to the left of the restaurant stands a rocket ship. The stylized rocket logo seen here is utilized everywhere, from employee uniforms and delivery vehicles, to cups and napkins inside the restaurant.

Description: Jade Pagoda Restaurant Seattle Jimmy Woo's Jade Pagoda! This #Broadway institution was opened in 1943 by the Woo family, and (intentionally) didn't change much over its 6+ decades, with a rotary payphone, a killer jukebox & signature neon "Cocktails" sign. With cheap, stiff AF drinks & loyal regulars, Jade Pagoda had that old working-class #CapitolHill character & was part of a (now seemingly dying) breed of mid-century Chinese American restaurants/lounges/cocktail bars in #Seattle.

Description: Built in 1961, this is one of five Polynesian-themed Tropics motels once owned by Ken Kimes. The most elaborate of the chain was in Palm Springs, now called the Caliente Tropics Resort. This motel was previously connected to the next door Tiki Cocktail Lounge. Further down was a Sambo's restaurant (which now houses Modesto Car Toys). Most recently, the Tropics Motel has been renamed the Tiki Lodge. The pool area is fenced off and is opened seasonally only. The four tikis carved by Ed Crissman around the parking lot now have lighting on their chests/foreheads and solar powered batteries on their heads.

Description: Burger Chef was an American fast-food restaurant chain. It began operating in 1954 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Burger Chef spread across the United States, following a strategy of opening outlets in smaller towns. By 1972 its number of locations (1,200) was surpassed only by McDonald's (1,600). They offered a double burger, called the Big Shef, and later the quarter-pound hamburger, Super Shef. The chain had two mascots: Burger Chef (voiced by Paul Winchell) and Jeff (the chef's juvenile sidekick). They had the first Kids Meal, 5 years before McDonald’s, as well as the first fast food deal with Star Wars. "There's more to like at Burger Chef."

Description: Patrons were incredibly loyal to The Broken Drum on Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica and were shaken when the restaurant closed in 1986, according to local newspaper reports we've seen. The hamburger joint was a long-standing institution and is even now remembered fondly by former customers. With its open fire and wood-burning ovens and fresh flowers on every table, the restaurant served food until 4am and many aspiring actors and actresses used it as a place to meet and fret about their careers. The menu cover, showing a clown beating a broken drum, with the words "you can't beat it," is thought to be from the 1940s.
