Description: Chesterton Stage Production's cast of talented teens will bring to life the legend from Sherwoo with nods to the films of the 30's. Description: An old English folk legend. Herne The Hunter was a poacher and some time gamekeeper of Windsor Forest who was killed in an unholy fashion. Now his antlered spirit is said to wander the wood, claiming the souls of those he meets. He was incorporated into the Robin Hood mythos by the 1980s TV show Robin Of Sherwood in which his appearance in Sherwood Forest encouraged Robert of Loxley to take on the mantle of the Hooded Man and defend the forest and its residents from injustice and black magic. Herne also appeared as a character in the fondly remembered BBC adaptation of the Christmas fantasy story, The Box of Delights.
Description: The Wicker Man is a 1973 British folk horror musical film directed by Robin Hardy and starring Edward Woodward, Britt Ekland, Diane Cilento, Ingrid Pitt, and Christopher Lee. The screenplay by Anthony Shaffer, inspired by David Pinner's 1967 novel Ritual, centres on the visit of Police Sergeant Neil Howie to the isolated island of Summerisle, in search of a missing girl. Howie, a devout Christian, is appalled to find that the inhabitants of the island have abandoned Christianity and now practice a form of Celtic paganism. Paul Giovanni composed the film score.
