Write Pillows
Description: Gertrude Stein quote on writing: You will write if you will write without thinking of the result in terms of a result, but think of the writing in terms of discovery, which is to say that creation must take place between the pen and the paper, not before in a thought or afterwards in a recasting… It will come if it is there and if you will let it come.
Description: Read Rise Resist hits on a more serious note. At its very core, humanity is created equally. As people become more educated and introspective, it becomes difficult to accept some of the ideas and social constructs that are tradition. We start to wake up to the fact that we possess the power to change the injustices. We wake up to the fact that mankind has been in a battle of the mind. Reading is said to aid in developing the ability to be empathetic. If we cannot feel the things our brothers and sisters feel, how can we know what is best for everyone?
Description: Neither brutal assaults, nor cruel mistreatment, nor torture have ever led me to beg for mercy, for I prefer to die with my head held high, unshakable faith, and the greatest confidence in the destiny of my country rather than live in slavery and contempt for sacred principles. History will one day have its say; it will not be the history taught in the United Nations, Washington, Paris, or Brussels, however, but the history taught in the countries that have rid themselves of colonialism and its puppets. Africa will write its own history and both north and south of the Sahara it will be a history full of glory and dignity.
