Description: When you think about it, there haven’t been many truly memorable toothpaste mascots over the years. One that does stand out—especially for a certain generation—is Tuffy Tooth. Introduced in 1969, Tuffy appeared in animated films shown to kids in schools, libraries, and community settings. He also popped up as a hand puppet on children’s programs, sharing quirky stories centered around dental care. Dentists and dental organizations embraced Tuffy as a friendly way to promote good habits like brushing regularly, visiting the dentist, eating healthy, and avoiding too much sugar. To keep kids engaged, the Tuffy Tooth Cavity Fighters Club was created, leading to an array of promotional items like buttons, t-shirts, and stickers.
