Diecast Bags
Description: A new technique for die-casting metal emerged during WWI, and after the war, toy manufacturers used the technique to create more detailed and accurate miniature cars. Dinky Toys was a leader in this area, selling their first diecast cars in sets of five. Dinky became a big name, and making models of popular cars which helped them find success. However, other companies emerged with their own innovations, and by the late '60s, diecast cars were all the rage and not just for kids. From hot rods to exotic, many adults were building collections of their own. This worked out well as kids began to embrace video games and electronic toys in the '70s and '80s as it was adult collectors who were keeping diecast car manufacturers in business.
