Description: The Foolishness of Protectionism series was inspired by an idea from a novel where a character had produced an artwork over hundreds and hundreds of interconnecting sheets of paper....I do not claim to be that obsessed, but eventually this series will consist of 25 panels that if correctly arranged make one larger artwork. Around half the panels have been completed since the project began, and shortly I will be starting work on completion of the remainder. This work was an initial study to trial ideas and colour schemes. Original: Acrylic on paper Painted: April 2016
Description: This work was partly inspired by a book I read, where over a lifetime a fictional artist produced an artwork comprising of thousands of panels. I liked the idea of a multi-section artwork where each panel could be considered a work in its own right but also where adjacent blocks of panels combined to produce ever larger artworks that still have points of interest and a balance of shapes and colours. There will be 25 panels to this artwork which will gradually be made available as I complete them.
