Description: The Gem Theater was a saloon in Deadwood, South Dakota, owned by Al Swearengen. Swearengen opened the Gem Variety Theater on April 7, 1877 at the corners of Wall and Main streets to entertain the population of the mining camp with "prize fights" (as was customary with Swearengen's previous establishment the Cricket Saloon, no prizes were actually involved), stage acts consisting of comedians, singers and dancers, and primarily, prostitutes.

Description: Discovering the necessary office supply amidst a completely disorganized drawer provides a phenomenally spectacular rush of pure joy. We often toss loose metallic fasteners into random compartments, creating a tangled and highly chaotic puzzle. Reaching blindly into that abyss and instantly extracting a perfectly intact paperclip feels like an extraordinarily lucky and massive triumph. We proudly consider this tiny logistical victory as a fabulous omen for a highly productive afternoon.
