Description: This was a painting I did in sketchbook #3 of a grass airplane runway for smaller planes. Around the runway was lots of tall grass. However, the runway itself was painted in the colors and shapes of dandelions. Their color was amplified by the overcast day and the heavy scent of rain.
Description: Fire on a Moonlit Night - Fire Dragon and White Cat in Mystical Forest - Hand-Painted Fantasy Watercolor Art Witness the clash of two elements: the fiery heat of a forest fire and the serene light of the moon. A tiny white cat, safely nestled in the golden dragon’s claws, in the midst of a mysterious night forest ✨ Original traditional watercolor artwork by KatrinColourArt.
Description: A hand drawn watercolor sketch of Shirakawa go, Japan: the steep thatched gassho farmhouses of Shirakawa go standing in deep snow, their roofs like folded paper and small rice fields under white, drawn with a thin ink pen in wobbly imperfect lines and washed over with soft translucent watercolor that spills outside the lines. Painted on warm cream paper with plenty of it left bare, like a page from a travel sketchbook. For anyone who loves Shirakawa go and the slow feeling of the north.
Description: joie de vivre means the joy of being alive. A hand painted watercolor collage of Provence, France, layered with rows of purple lavender running to a stone farmhouse with lilac shutters in Provence, sunflowers and a sprig of rosemary, with the words joie de vivre lettered by brush across the middle of the page. Loose wet washes on warm cream paper for anyone who left a piece of their heart in Provence and wants a little of that slow France feeling every day.
Description: Hand painted watercolor art of Cape Town, South Africa, built up as a collage of the flat topped Table Mountain above a curve of blue bay at Cape Town, a row of pastel Bo-Kaap houses and king protea flowers, with lekker brushed across the middle. lekker means lovely, tasty, just right. Warm cream paper, loose pigment and fine ink lines for lovers of South Africa, slow mornings and the kind of holiday you never quite come home from.
