Masonic Skull Bags
Description: The Jolly Roger of the Hendricks County (Indiana) Shrine Club of Murat Shriners accompanied by a quote by the legendary (in his own mind) Pirate Cap'n Jack Tar. There is a legend that Jack Tar and his pirate cohort Rusty Cutlass barely escaped capture once in the waters of south east Florida. It was that incident that caused Jack Tar to be made Cap'n for life... and hardy laughter and stories to be told for many years after the incident.
Description: Illustration inspired in elements of Secret Society of Freemasonry. It consist in a owl with a skull on the chest (formed by white feathers, in contrast to the rest of his brown plumage). In the animal's head is placed a compass with a rule and within it there is an eye (the eye that sees everything). On the whole, there is a halo formed by golden rays.
Description: The Scottish Rite is a branch of Freemasonry that traces its origins to the 18th century and is known for its elaborate rituals, philosophical teachings, and distinctive system of 33 degrees. Building upon the foundations of traditional Freemasonry, the Scottish Rite explores themes of morality, personal growth, justice, and the pursuit of knowledge through allegorical ceremonies steeped in symbolism and history. Despite its name, the organization developed largely in France and later flourished in the United States, where the Supreme Council of the Southern Jurisdiction was established in Charleston. This particular design is from a banner or apron design as described in The Book of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite from 1885.
