Description: Sitting in the heart of the valley between the Modesto and Merced at the intersection of State Route 99 and State Route 165, Turlock, California is a small town with a decent-sized population – close to 70,000. Latif’s Restaurant & Fountain opened their doors in 1960 in the heart of town on Golden State Blvd. and has been in business under several owners and a minor name change or two ever since. From the authentic ’60s decor and world-famous pies to a chair where George H. W. Bush once sat and classic American fare, not much has changed in six decades and that’s just how people like it.
Description: Boone’s Farm started as an apple wine that was first released for sale in 1961. Over the years, numerous fruit-flavored wines and malt beverages under the Boone’s Farm label were introduced. Some popular Boone’s Farm flavors have included blackberry, green apple, mango, peach, pink grapefruit, sangria, and watermelon, though their Strawberry Hill flavor is without question the fan-favorite of everyone from college students to senior citizens. Boone’s Farm was regularly sold in convenience and grocery stores across the United States, though since some state liquor laws prohibit the sale of wine in these types of stores, Boone’s Farm products were labeled as malt beverages instead of wine in those markets.
Description: Apple Wine 1961 is more than just a representation of a vintage alcoholic beverage; it is a celebration of a bygone era. It speaks to the viewer about the simplicity and the unpretentious joys of the past. The artwork is a charming reminder of social gatherings, youthful exuberance, and the sweet taste of apple wine on a warm summer evening.
