Description: The 1883 season was the first in the history of the Philadelphia Quakers. The team was founded earlier in the year as a replacement for the Worcester franchise. It was the first year Philadelphia was represented in the National League since the original Athletics were disbanded in 1876. The American Association's Philadelphia Athletics had been founded a year earlier. The team opened the year managed by Bob Ferguson; however, he was fired as manager after a disappointing 4–13 start and replaced by Blondie Purcell. The team finished the season 17–81, worst in the National League.
Description: The Pittsburgh Pirates were an American professional ice hockey team in the National Hockey League (NHL), based in Pittsburgh from 1925–26 to 1929–30. The nickname comes from the baseball team also based in the city. For the 1930–31 season, the team moved to Philadelphia, and played one season as the Philadelphia Quakers.
Description: The Saskatoon Quakers were an ice hockey team that was based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The team existed from 1945 until 1959, and again from 1965–1971, playing in various senior and minor professional leagues during that time. The Quakers represented Canada and won gold at the 1934 World Hockey Championships held in Milan, Italy. They were named after the Quaker Oats Company, a major employer in the city.

Description: The Richmond Quakers were a professional minor league baseball team, based in Richmond, Indiana. The club was first formed in 1908 as team in the class-D Indiana-Ohio League. However a long series of financial losses by every club in the league, caused its disbandment. The Richmond Amusement Company, which owned the Quakers, reported loses in excess of a thousand dollars. However the team was willing to continue the team in the league if the other clubs would stay, on the chance of regaining its losses later.
