By 1882, Pennsylvania Railroad had become the largest railroad (by traffic and revenue), the largest transportation enterprise, and the largest corporation in the world. Its budget was second only to the U.S. government.

Description: The Central Railroad of New Jersey, also known as the New Jersey Central or Jersey Central Lines, was a Class I railroad with origins in the 1830s. It was absorbed into Conrail in April 1976 along with several other prominent bankrupt railroads of the Northeastern United States. This "ball" logo from a 1909 publication was used relatively unchanged until 1945, when it was replaced by the Statue of Liberty logo.

This vintage round distressed version of their classic logo is in the railroad's yellow and red, and has an extra red outline.
