Description: 3rd Bass is an American hip hop group formed in Queens, New York in 1987. The group, consisting of MC Serch, Pete Nice, and DJ Richie Rich, were one of the first successful interracial hip hop acts. Active in the late 1980s and early 1990s, they released two albums, The Cactus Album (1989) and Derelicts of Dialect (1991), before disbanding in 1992. 3rd Bass were known for balancing reverence for their idols with a drive to push the genre forward.
