Description: It is native to the Amazon, Orinoco, and Essequibo river basins of South America, in Ecuador, Venezuela, Guyana, Colombia, Peru, Suriname, Bolivia, and Brazil. It is found only in fresh water, and inhabits larger rivers, streams, and lakes. It can reach about 1.8 m (5 ft 11 in) in length, and about 80 kg (180 lb) in weight.

Description: It is a member of the Catfish Family. They are native to the Mekong, Chao Phraya and Xe Bangfai basins; also from the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Java and Borneo. It can reach a a length of 130 centimetres (51 inches). This species is the largest Bagrid catfish in Asia.
