The refinery was targeted by agents of the Alliance to Restore the Republic following the destruction of Jedha City and resulted in the ruination of the facility and the death of Erso.

Description: Domino Sugar Refinery On the Mississippi River Louisiana by Debra Martz When seeing at a distance and even when nearing the refinery, I thought it was something of the past. And then the narrator aboard the Creole Queen Historic Cruise began to tell of its history. To my surprise it is still operational and has been operating on the banks of the Mississippi River since 1909, now producing 7 million pounds of sugar per day. This Louisiana refinery is one of the region’s largest employers, providing more than 400 direct jobs. Description: The city of Port Arthur began as the dream of railroad man Arthur Stilwell, who envisioned it as a trade and tourism center. By the time the city was incorporated in 1898, Stilwell had founded the Port Arthur Channel and Dock Co., which welcomed its first ship to the port of Port Arthur the following year. In just two years, oil was discovered in nearby Beaumont, kicking off the Spindletop boom that would see Port Arthur become the biggest oil refining locale in the world by the mid-20th century. In 1948 the town held its Golden Jubilee celebration, 50 years after its incorporation as a city which centered around a parade with drummers marching down Procter Street trailed by floats, including one with the Golden Jubilee queen and her court.
Description: Atlantic was founded as the Atlantic Petroleum Storage Company in 1866 in the then-fledgling oil business. In 1874, the company, now known as Atlantic Refining, was purchased by John D. Rockefeller and integrated as part of Standard Oil. The acquisition gave Rockefeller a major presence on the East Coast in his growing empire. In 1886, after acquiring many other oil companies, the Standard Oil Trust organized territories for their companies. Atlantic's territory covered the entire state of Delaware, the southern half of New Jersey, and the southeasternmost corner of Pennsylvania, essentially giving Atlantic the entire Philadelphia area.
Description: White Rose Gasoline was a product of the National Refining Company, which was founded by J.I. Lamprecht in 1882. He ran the company until he died in 1920. Afterward, his son W.H Lamprecht took over. The company produced a range of products. Its brands included National, ENARCO and Royal motor oil, White Rose and Royal gasoline and motor oil, and White Rose, Royal and National light oil.
