Description: In the late 1970s, disco was the most popular music genre in America, however, disco sparked a major backlash from rock music fans as popular culture cultivated a widespread perception that disco was taking over. This lead to a widespread 'disco sucks' movement that could be found just about everywhere, from messages on t-shirts to an all out riot in Chicago.
