Born in Texas in 1936 Orbison, known for his distinctive, powerful voice, complex compositions, and dark emotional ballads, achieved massive popular success in the 1960's with hits like 'Only The Lonely', 'Oh Pretty Woman' and 'In Dreams'. In 1988 he became a member of The Travelling Wilburys alongside George Harrison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and Jeff Lyne. Orbison died of a heart attack in December 1988 at the age of 52.
