Description: The Spinnaker Tower, Portsmouth Number of views as of 20th November 2018 = 370. The 170 metre (560 foot) Spinnaker Tower, overlooking the water-front at Portsmouth (Hampshire, England) and visible from miles around. The Tower represents the shape of a spinnaker sail billowing in the wind, a design accomplished using two large, white, sweeping steel arcs, which give the tower its unusual, yet striking appearance. The Tower is the centre-piece of the Portsmouth harbour redevelopment project, which has transformed the area, and also includes the popular Gunwharf Quays shopping centre. Date: 2nd January 2012.
