What once was a beacon of discourse now hemorrhages patriotism in service of propaganda. Censorship—like the silencing of satirical voices—echoes as a silent scream. Each drip marks a truth suppressed, each puddle a freedom lost. This isn’t nostalgia. It’s indictment. Orwell’s warning isn’t future—it’s here.

All those sci-fi optimists of decades past would be disappointed to learn that the future would turn out to be dominated by late stage capitalist greed, dystopian data gathering, mass surveillance, and social media-induced depression.
