Timberline Lodge Bags
Description: After WWII had come to an end, wartime rationing and conservation were over, and Americans were ready to hit the road and see the sights. Travel stickers became a popular souvenir of the places people visited and could be found at most service stations, landmarks, motels, and restaurants along America’s highways. Whether they were stuck on luggage, into albums, or right on the family car, these stickers were a ubiquitous sight for years to come. This one is based on a design celebrating Oregon's Timberline Lodge which opened its doors back in 1938. If it looks familiar, it might be because the exterior views of Timberline Lodge were used in 1980s The Shining, the film adaptation of the 1977 novel set at the fictional Overlook Hotel.
Description: A heavily distressed vintage-style emblem inspired by fictional 1970s hospitality branding, this design channels the eerie atmosphere of isolated mountain resorts and cult psychological horror aesthetics. Featuring a cracked circular badge, simplified geometric illustration of a remote alpine lodge, and crossed key iconography, the design reads: “THE OVERLOOK HOTEL – TIMBERLINE LODGE, CO – EST. 1975” The red-and-black high-contrast palette, worn ink texture, and aged print effects give it the appearance of an authentic staff uniform recovered from a forgotten era.
