Description: This Dogs of War illustration features the Russian KV2. It was a massive tank in its day. A huge 152mm howitzer was mounted in a battle ship style turret. It was slow, top heavy and cumbersome but almost impervious to attack. These dogs appear to run down a locals bicycle. They must have not been looking where they were going!
Description: The tiger 2, king tiger or more correctly in German the Konigstiger which translates to royal tiger was the biggest baddest tank of ww2. Armour that never failed during a frontal assault and a gun capable of destroying any other known opponent at long range. This one is firing off a shot and upsetting a number of the crew who may not have been expecting it.
Description: To go with my ww2 RAF pilot I've created a dogs of war Luftwaffe pilot. I've used the emblems of the German air force during WW2 and pictured a dog that resembles the Doberman Pinscher that is a breed of dog developed in the late 1800s in Germany. Next up will be an American P51 'driver'
Description: The Hawker Typhoon in its day was one of the fastest planes in the air. When the Spitfires couldn't keep up, these were sent out. This plane bares the familiar invasion stripes that were originally applied pre-invasion to Typhoons to ensure they were not mistaken for FW190s as they had a similar profile.
Description: This beautiful and rugged aircraft is a Hawker Sea Hurricane possessing modifications making it suitable for maritime operations. I captured the moment an exhausted pilot rests on the wing and a concerned ground crew member offers the pilot a much needed sandwich and cup of tea. The plane has taken a few hits but true to its nature it's brought the pilot home safely. The real thing can be seen at the Shuttleworth Collection, UK.
Description: The 5th addition to the series and those pesky dogs of war are at it again this time in a German made Jagdpanther. This is a ww2 tank destroyer specifically designed to engage and destroy other armored vehicles. It doesn’t have a turret so that it can instead posses stronger armor and a bigger gun.
Description: The Churchill tank was Great Britain's entry level heavy tank at the beginning of WW2. it was designed before the war and draws heavily on what was learned about tank warfare during WW1. Think Armour, flat sides and high tracks that could cross trenches was the doctrine at the time and so such the Churchill suffered from having no angled faces capable of deflecting enemy fire. Even so it was a good vehicle and performed admirably for its crews.
Description: The Dogs of Wars are out racing across the country side in the M18 Hellcat. An American made light Tank with a powerful gun that was capable of the tank equivalent of the drive by shooting. This was the fastest tank on the block and Its speed was its best defense as it didn’t have the armour to take return fire from its heavier German opponents. Shoot then run, that was the way of this ambush predator.

Description: At last the dogs of war have a P47, the Jug as it was know to its pilots was named not for its size, as in juggernaut, but for the fact that someone at some point thought that if up ended and balanced on its nose its fuselage looked like a classic American milk jug. In any case it was a massive fighter plane known for being fast and very rugged. It had 8 50,cal machine guns in the wings and packed a huge bunch. Pilots of the P47 found it was excellent in a dive but not so great in a dogfight against more agile fighters like the Bf109. Therefore they perfected the Boom and Zoom. Dive on the enemy guns blazing and then use the momentum to fly back up to altitude whether a kill was made or not. If a pilot wanted to live a long hand happy life
Description: The Russian made T34 was one of the best, most rugged and practical tanks of ww2. This fighting vehicle was innovative and easy to mass produce. Although not the best tank of the war, in great numbers it was an effective weapon and one of the best fielded by the Soviet Union. This one is crewed by those pesky dogs of war and is an up-gunned version of the original T34 design. The T34/85
Description: The He 162 officially called the Sparrow or Spatz in German was a single seat Jet fighter fielded by the German Luftwaffe at the end of the second world war. Apart from rocket fighters like the Me 163 this was the fastest conventional aircraft in the air at the time topping out at 562mph at 20,000ft. Unfortunately however for its pilots it was unreliable and very difficult to fly.
