Despite being identical twins, the girls were born three days apart, an ordeal that marked the beginning of the end of their mother. Seeing the girls’ heads rotate 270 degrees to stare at her when they were laid on their stomachs probably finished her off, but not before she’d had a chance to name the girls Minerva and Athena. A 12x12 stretched canvas that we created inspired by the 2 small dragonflies a coworker gave me from some broken earrings.

Abstract paper mosaic. Background pattern is mixed aquamedia consisting of Winsor & Newton transparent watercolor, Pelikan ink, and Liquitex acrylic on 4-ply rag matboard. Paper chips are pieces of my unresolved paintings, salvaged, cut up, and reassembled. :-)
