Boudica or Boudicca, was a queen of the ancient British Iceni tribe, who led a failed uprising against the conquering forces of the Roman Empire in AD 60 or 61. She is considered a British national heroine and a symbol of the struggle for justice and independence.

Boadicea was just the queen of a Celtic tribe in one corner of Britain. But – after the death of her husband and watching her tribe invaded, her lands taken and witnessing the rape of her daughters – she went down in history. He led the biggest revolt against the Romans in Britain's 400-year rule.
