Whilst it was snowing I took this picture of the oxford canal,looking through Newbold tunnel Bridge 49 towards fools bridge 48 and boats in the distance. Newbold tunnel is a quarter of a mile long build in 1820s when they shortened the oxford canal. The original tunnel ran under St. Botolphs church yard in Newbold on Avon the entrance to the tunnel can still be seen. Canon 600D

The colorfully dramatic headsails of a class E-sloop sailboat shine in the bright light of summer while engaged in a regatta.

This photo was taken just when the Marina on Maryland's Eastern Shore was full of sailboats. It was early in the morning along the Chesapeake Bay before the sailboats were launched for a day out on the water. I added a sepia tinted texture to give the image a vintage look.

Seaton Sluice harbour in Northumberland is a tidal harbour for small craft and this image was shot at high tide on a calm sunday morning in July with the water perfectly reflecting the blue sky.

The Fish Quay at North Shields is a colourful place at most times of the day, but this image has captured the scene just after sunset on a calm November evening with the last of the daylight casting a golden glow over the boats moored for the night

Sirmione is at the end of a peninsular on the southern shore of Lake Garda in Italy. The pedestrianised old town is protected by its own castle and entrance is through the old drawbridge. This beautiful town is a mecca for tourists during the summer who enjoy the facilities, coffee and 'gelati'. This images has been given an artistic filter in the style of Cezanne for something just that little bit different.

A digital art image of the canal basin at Brecon in Powys, South Wales. Here the Monmouth and Brecon Canal reaches its northernmost limit after winding through the Brecon Beacons. The canal was constructed to link Brecon with the docks at Newport, the narrow boats carrying coal, iron and limestone. A system of tramways linked the canal to the mines and quarries. It is currently navigable between Brecon and Pontymoile, with plans in place to extend this to Newport.

The harbour at Maryport on the north coast of Cumbria. Maryport is the southernmost town on the Solway Firth and across the water can be seen the Scottish coast, This was once a thriving port centred round the coal and ship building industries. Having declined in importance since Victorian times, it is now developing as a holiday and cultural centre and the harbour is now home to fishing boats and yachts.

A view of the harbour showing part of Nimborio Village on the beautiful Greek Island of Halki. Many villagers still make their living from the sea, so there are always small fishing boats in the sheltered harbour. Halki is a small yet very charming island in the Dodecanese that is situated opposite the west coast of Rhodes. Three bracketed JPGs converted to HDR in Photomatix Pro.

New England Fall Coastline is a nautical art print I created using an impasto oil technique. This technique focuses on bold brush strokes and bright primary colors. The setting is the area around Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. The heavily wooded coastline is ablaze with fall colors.
