Description:
San Francisco's Kamel 106 launched in 1977 as a powerhouse album rock station with a headphone wearing cartoon camel as their mascot. By the early '80s, they were one of six rock stations in the Bay area and sadly ended up flipping to a top-40 format in 1984.
